The Utah Transit Authority (UTA) is seeking an Engineering Resource to serve as a critical technical partner across all business units. This role is designed to solve highly complex challenges within commuter rail, light rail, passenger coach operations, maintenance shops, and supply chain logistics. You will be instrumental in developing repair, retrofit, and overhaul processes, while establishing the control standards that govern capital improvements.
In this position, you will bridge the gap between engineering design and field execution. Your day-to-day involves directing and supervising resident inspections during contractor manufacturing processes, ensuring that new passenger equipment meets rigorous quality standards before it ever enters service. You will manage quality assurance and preventative maintenance audits, evaluate vendor performance, and conduct research on technical advances in large vehicle manufacturing. Additionally, you will provide essential training to operators, supervisors, and technicians, guiding them through unique engineering projects and complex maintenance issues.
To be considered for this opportunity, please submit your application before June 3rd, 2026, by 5:59 pm. UTA reserves the right to determine equivalencies of education and experience for candidates who may not meet the minimum qualifications exactly but possess a relevant combination of skills.
