About the Role

The Instrumentation Engineer serves as a critical guardian of plant safety, reliability, and efficiency. This position is dedicated to the design, installation, maintenance, and optimization of control systems and instrumentation. The role exists to maximize plant availability by ensuring that complex process control environments operate seamlessly, balancing independent project execution with collaborative team efforts to meet departmental goals.

Day in the Life

You will navigate a dynamic environment where technical expertise in process control, PLC/DCS systems, and industrial instrumentation is applied daily. Your work involves deep collaboration with operations and maintenance teams to perform root cause analysis on instrumentation issues, ensuring that downtime is minimized through proactive monitoring and troubleshooting.

A significant portion of your time will be spent on the plant floor, conducting independent and recurring walkthroughs to verify optimal equipment operation. You will work in diverse environmental conditions, ranging from high temperatures and humidity to significant heights, ensuring that all installations adhere to strict safety and environmental policies. Your efforts contribute directly to a culture committed to continuous improvement, aiming for a zero-harm and zero-environmental-impact workplace.

Safety and Culture

Safety is the foundation of this role. You will be responsible for supervising Lockout/Tagout procedures and ensuring that all operations follow proper design and protection systems. The team is dedicated to adhering to rigorous safety and environmental standards, fostering a workplace where reliability and safety are paramount.

  • check_circleMonitor plant operations to reduce planned and unplanned downtime
  • check_circleImplement and optimize DCS, PLC, and SCADA systems
