System Transport has been hauling what builds America since 1972. We combine the resources of a large company with the feel of a small one, keeping the country running with dedicated drivers behind the wheel. Our mission is to transport essential goods and materials—including glass, steel, aluminum, building materials, machinery, coils, and specialty metals—across the western region of America. We are committed to the "America Proud, Flatbed Strong" ethos, ensuring our drivers are supported with modern equipment and a culture that values safety and reliability.
As a CDL-A Regional Flatbed Driver for Division 290, you will operate flatbed trucks on regional routes out of our Kansas City, MO terminal. This role is designed for experienced drivers, though we are currently accepting applications from recent CDL-A graduates through May 31, 2026, offering a unique opportunity to launch your career with us. You will be responsible for transporting critical materials, which includes tarping approximately 70% of loads; drivers must be physically capable of lifting a 90-pound tarp onto a 5-foot high platform.
Our fleet consists of the newest flatbed trucks, meticulously maintained and equipped with cutting-edge safety technologies such as lane departure warnings, forward collision systems, and satellite communication devices. We prioritize your safety and comfort, ensuring that no truck leaves the shop until it is 100% ready for the road. Drivers also have access to our award-winning Driver Portal app, providing 24/7 support, real-time trip updates, and easy access to pay and PTO information.
This position offers a schedule designed for work-life balance, with drivers typically off most weekends for a 34-hour reset. While home time can vary by division, this specific opportunity in Division 290 is structured to maximize time at home. We also offer a guest rider policy, allowing riders aged 7 and up to join the driver after 90 days of safe driving, though pets are not permitted on board.
To join our team, applicants must meet specific hiring qualifications, including a valid Class A CDL, being at least 21 years old, and maintaining a safe driving record. All candidates must pass a background check, a clean drug test, and a clean Clearinghouse result. Additionally, all flatbed applicants must successfully complete a physical test during orientation to demonstrate the ability to handle tarping duties.
We understand that changing jobs is never easy, which is why we offer a $1,800 transition package to invest in your success. This includes $1,000 allocated for orientation during your first two weeks, allowing you to focus on driving while we handle the rest. To apply, please call 1-866-725-5083 to speak with a recruiter about the pay package and route options. Applications are accepted until the deadline of May 31, 2026.
System Transport is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to fair pay and equal opportunity for all employees. We consider qualified applicants regardless of background and strive to provide a supportive environment where every driver can succeed.
