About the Role

The Fire Protection Trade Manager leads and oversees the fire protection field installation process for new construction projects. This role is defined by a hands-on, "teacher-and-coach" leadership approach. You will be responsible for ensuring fire protection systems are installed correctly, safely, and efficiently in accordance with design documents, codes, ACI standards, and project schedules.

A core part of your day involves actively mentoring foremen, fitters, mechanics, and apprentices. You will provide clear instruction, field training, and constructive feedback to continuously improve workmanship, productivity, and professional development. As a key team member and leader, you will communicate with the construction team regarding open issues and progress during planning phases and the build process, ensuring that changes and problems are documented and resolved promptly.

Location and Work Environment

This position reports to our Richmond, VA Headquarters and surrounding job sites. The role requires the ability to report to multiple job sites as assigned, including working varying schedules that may require extended hours (evenings, weekends, and holidays) to meet client-specific safety standards.

The work environment is representative of active construction sites. You may work in varying temperatures, both inside and outside, including inclement weather, heat, humidity, cold, and dampness. The role involves exposure to moderate/high noise levels, fumes, or airborne particles, and may require working in confined spaces or from high heights. Success in this role requires the ability to use construction equipment, heavy machinery, and hand tools, as well as the physical capacity to work aloft, climb, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs.
