As the Fire Protection Engineer, you will provide critical engineering expertise to support facilities, infrastructure, and mission-critical operations within the Intelligence Community. This role is essential for ensuring compliance with applicable fire and life safety codes, standards, and agency-specific requirements to protect personnel, assets, and the continuity of operations in secure environments. You will serve as a technical authority, applying engineering judgment to guide project teams, facility managers, and leadership through complex fire protection challenges.
Your work will span the full lifecycle of fire safety systems, from designing and reviewing detection, alarm, suppression, and smoke control systems to conducting field inspections and acceptance testing. You will perform fire hazard analyses and life safety assessments for new construction, renovations, and existing facilities, ensuring all projects meet rigorous standards such as NFPA, IBC, IFC, and Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC). A significant portion of your time will be dedicated to coordinating with architects, engineers, contractors, and Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs), while preparing technical reports and supporting emergency planning initiatives to maintain high-reliability operations.
Candidates must possess an active Top Secret SCI with CI Poly clearance to be considered for this position. The application process involves submitting credentials that verify your Registered Professional Engineer (PE) license and relevant experience within secure, mission-critical, or government facilities.
