This position serves as a trainee dedicated to mastering the mechanics of fire sprinkler and fire alarm system installation, as well as fire extinguisher and suppression systems. You will work under the close guidance of a Sprinkler Fitter or Senior Technician, learning to cut and thread pipe, run wire for fire alarm systems, and install and test fire sprinkler systems. The role is designed for individuals eager to learn the trade, with continued employment contingent upon successfully obtaining applicable state licensing.
Your day will involve a mix of hands-on technical support and logistical duties. You will assist the Fitter in achieving tasks necessary to complete work on a job site in a timely and effective manner. Responsibilities include site clean-up, unloading, staging, and distributing work materials to other employees. You will also be responsible for protecting and maintaining company equipment.
A key part of your daily routine involves maintaining a clean, well-organized vehicle and ensuring a safe environment for yourself, co-workers, and customers. You will follow verbal work instructions and demonstrate the initiative to learn installation, inspection, and servicing codes. Success in this role requires strong organization skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to quickly learn while performing physical activities outlined in the company's requirements checklist.
