About Year Up United

Year Up United is an intensive, one-year or less job training program designed to bridge the gap between young adults and professional careers. Our mission is to provide participants with in-classroom skill development, access to high-quality internships, and personalized coaching and mentorship. By combining technical and professional training with direct pathways to employment through our industry-leading talent placement firm, YUPRO Placement, we empower individuals to launch successful careers in the Providence area.

Internship opportunities are placed with leading organizations such as Citizens, Amica Mutual Insurance Company, Lifespan, and Fidelity, offering real-world experience alongside structured learning.

What to Expect

Participants in the program gain more than just technical knowledge; they develop essential professional business and communication skills, interviewing and networking strategies, and resume-building expertise. The curriculum includes in-depth classes in Business Operations, IT Support, Financial Operations, Banking, Project Management, and Network Security & Support. Throughout the program, students receive ongoing support and guidance to help them navigate their career launch.

During the internship phase, Year Up United students earn an educational stipend of $525 per week. The program is designed for highly motivated individuals who are available Monday through Friday and have not yet obtained a Bachelor's degree. Success in the program is evident: 72% of Year Up United graduates are employed and/or enrolled in postsecondary education within four months of graduation, with employed graduates earning an average starting salary of $53,000 per year.
