As a Field Systems Engineer at bioMérieux, you will serve as the primary technical partner for our customers, ensuring the optimal performance of our diverse diagnostic product portfolio. This role is designed for a self-starter who thrives in a dynamic environment, delivering a best-in-class customer experience while working remotely without direct supervision. You will collaborate directly with clinicians, scientists, technicians, and lab leadership to troubleshoot, install, and maintain complex biomedical and electronic systems.
The position demands a high degree of autonomy and adaptability. You will manage a territory that requires significant daily driving, with expectations of overnight travel on short notice for national coverage. Your day-to-day involves balancing scheduled customer visits with unscheduled service calls, participating in a rotational on-call schedule, and representing the company professionally at trade shows and customer sites. Success in this role means building trust with customers, identifying opportunities to enhance service agreements, and driving revenue through billable offerings like preventive maintenance.
To ensure you are fully equipped to support our technology, the role includes an intensive initial training period of 6–9 weeks at our Durham, NC, or St. Louis, MO offices. This foundational training is followed by ongoing opportunities as new products are introduced or as your expertise evolves. We are committed to your professional growth, encouraging you to continuously improve both your technical and interpersonal skills while meeting annual performance priorities.
Candidates interested in joining the bioMérieux team should submit their application with a resume detailing their relevant experience in electro-mechanical, electronic, or biomedical systems. We look for individuals who demonstrate critical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and a history of working independently in field service environments. Please ensure your application highlights your experience with troubleshooting complex systems and your ability to manage customer expectations in a fast-paced setting.
