As a Field Systems Engineer, you will serve as the primary technical partner for bioMérieux customers across your assigned territory and nationally. This role is designed for a self-starter who thrives in a dynamic, remote environment without direct supervision. You will be the face of our brand, delivering a best-in-class customer experience while ensuring the optimal performance of our diverse product portfolio.
Your day-to-day involves a blend of high-level technical execution and strategic relationship building. You will partner directly with clinicians, scientists, technicians, and lab leadership to troubleshoot, install, maintain, and repair complex biomedical and electro-mechanical instruments. Beyond technical support, you will identify opportunities to strengthen customer relationships and drive service revenue through preventive maintenance and equipment moves. This position requires significant mobility, with daily driving comprising 50% or more of your time, alongside rotational weekend and holiday on-call coverage and occasional overnight travel for national support or training.
You will join a team dedicated to optimizing laboratory operations through reliable, high-performance instrumentation. Your work directly impacts the critical workflows of our customers, ensuring their diagnostic and testing capabilities remain uninterrupted. By collaborating with sales, applications, and support teams, you help expand our service capabilities and represent bioMérieux professionally at trade shows and customer sites.
Candidates selected for this role will undergo a comprehensive training program lasting 6–9 weeks at our Durham, NC, or St. Louis, MO offices within the first year. This foundational training ensures you are fully qualified to support our product line before deploying to the field. Future training opportunities will be provided as needed to keep skills current.
