The Field Systems Engineer serves as the primary technical partner for bioMérieux customers across an assigned geographic territory and nationally. This role is designed for a self-starter who thrives in a remote environment without direct supervision, delivering a best-in-class customer experience while managing complex service needs. You will act as the bridge between our diverse product portfolio and the Clinicians, Scientists, Technicians, and Lab Leaders who rely on them daily.
Your day-to-day involves optimizing instrument performance through installations, maintenance, upgrades, and repairs. Beyond technical execution, you will build lasting trust with customers, identify opportunities for service agreements, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive revenue. The role demands flexibility, including daily driving, rotational weekend and holiday coverage, and the ability to conduct overnight travel on short notice to support critical customer needs.
As a Field Systems Engineer, you represent bioMérieux's commitment to advancing laboratory operations. You will work closely with service, support, sales, and applications teams to ensure seamless operations for our clients. Your feedback is vital in helping Sales, Marketing, and Customer Service expand our capabilities and enhance the overall customer experience. By maintaining high standards of quality and professionalism, you contribute directly to the reliability of the diagnostic tools used in healthcare and research settings.
Candidates selected for this role will undergo a comprehensive onboarding process. The first year includes 6–9 weeks of intensive product training at our Durham, NC or St. Louis, MO offices. Future training opportunities will be provided as needed to ensure you remain current with our evolving technology. The selection process focuses on identifying individuals with the technical aptitude, adaptability, and resilience required to succeed in a dynamic field environment.
