This position is designed to accelerate the creation of a Cardiothoracic Imaging Library of teaching cases for residents and trainees across pulmonology, cardiology, and future body fellowships. The role serves as a critical bridge between raw clinical data and educational resources, transforming unstructured medical imaging into a structured, presentation-ready format.
You will work directly with Cardiac MR studies collected over the last 2.5 years and raw data from multiple PowerPoint presentations stored on UTMB OneDrive. Your primary mission is to organize, edit, and classify approximately 300–400 unclassified cases to build a comprehensive library for the Radiology department.
Your work involves meticulous data extraction and organization. You will pull images from PACS and OneDrive, ensuring patient information is securely cropped and fields of view are optimized for teaching purposes. A significant portion of your time will be dedicated to classifying the Cardiac MR library into specific categories, including ischemic and non-ischemic cardiomyopathy, valvular disease, shunts, and congenital conditions.
You will create three distinct PowerPoint presentations—one each for CXR, CT, and MR studies—ensuring each slice contains a single, high-quality image. Alongside these visual assets, you will compile detailed metadata, including medical record numbers, study times, and diagnoses, into corresponding Excel sheets. This process requires cross-referencing data sources to ensure every case in the provided Excel sheet is accurately paired with its corresponding key images and slice numbers.
Candidates must be currently enrolled as UTMB students at least half-time and possess a High School Diploma. Applications should be submitted through the official UTMB career portal.
