About the Team

The Michels Federal, Inc. team plays a critical role in combining Michels' solutions for the pursuit, development, and delivery of large, complex energy and infrastructure projects. We are a family-owned and operated company consistently ranked among the top 10% of Engineering News-Record's Top 400 Contractors. Our steady, strategic growth revolves around a commitment to quality and a belief that it is everyone's responsibility to promote safety, regardless of job titles.

Like our field construction teams, Michels Federal takes into consideration safety, social and environmental responsibility, and the health and wellbeing of our people and the communities in which we work. We strive to make a difference in positive, respectful, and responsible ways, turning construction ideas into safe, reliable federal improvements.

About the Role

Michels is seeking an experienced Federal Project Manager to join our growing Federal Programs team. This role serves as a key liaison between Michels and federal clients—including the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) and Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC)—to ensure successful project delivery. You will guide projects from award through completion by facilitating communication, ensuring compliance with federal requirements, and supporting construction teams throughout the project lifecycle.

In this position, you will manage federal projects across all Michels business lines, which may include heavy civil, infrastructure, energy, utilities, and other federal pursuits. While deep technical expertise is helpful, success relies on your familiarity with federal processes and your ability to keep diverse, multi-disciplinary projects aligned. You will represent the team, report to the Vice President of Federal Programs, and coordinate closely with construction, engineering, safety, quality, and operational teams to support seamless project execution.

Why Michels?

We invest an average of $5,000 per employee on training each year and reward hard work and dedication with limitless opportunities. We believe in surrounding ourselves with dedicated, value-driven people who understand the importance of small details on large projects. We offer a comprehensive benefits program, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, life insurance, flexible spending accounts, health savings accounts, short-term and long-term disability insurance, a 401(k) plan, and a legal plan. Employees also enjoy 15 to 25 days of paid time off and 8 paid holidays annually.

If you want to make your own decisions while knowing support is always available, and if you want to work to make a difference in people's lives, this is the place for you.

Equal Opportunity

Michels is an Equal Opportunity Employer. We consider qualified applicants regardless of background, race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, or veteran status. We are committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace where everyone can thrive.
