Founded in 1876, The Boys’ Club of New York (BCNY) is a youth development organization with the mission to empower boys and young men, ages 7 to 21, by providing effective programs and a supportive community. BCNY provides evidence-based programs to address the evolving social, emotional, health, creative, educational, and vocational needs of our members in meaningful, lasting ways. We strive to continually deepen and broaden our impact by cultivating positive qualities in our members.
As an Explorer Group Leader, you will be the direct guide and supervisor for a group of boys ages 7 to 11. Your primary focus is ensuring the safety of youth under your care while creating an engaging and intellectually stimulating environment. You will build rapport with members through positive interactions during program activities, helping them navigate challenges and grow.
In this role, you will not only facilitate age-appropriate curriculum and games but also assist in managing program assistants and volunteers. You will be an active participant in both indoor and outdoor activities, helping to set up and clean up spaces, and ensuring all materials are cared for properly. Your presence is vital in defusing inappropriate behavior using effective management strategies and communicating incidents to the Age Group Director when necessary.
We are a COVID-19 proactive organization dedicated to maintaining a safe environment for our members and staff. While frontline employees are not required to be fully vaccinated, BCNY strongly encourages all employees to be vaccinated against COVID-19 and to obtain a booster shot.
