About the Role
As a Pastry Cook 1, you will be the heartbeat of our bakery operations, overseeing daily activities while assisting with broader culinary supervision. This role is designed for a passionate baker who thrives in a high-volume environment and takes pride in the precision of their craft. You will be responsible for the execution of all menu categories, ensuring that every item meets our rigorous standards for timing, quality, temperature, portion, and presentation.
Your day-to-day involves performing a wide array of pastry techniques, from scaling and mixing to proofing, baking, decorating, and finishing. You will replicate recipes with minimal supervision and occasionally assist in creating custom wedding cakes and show pieces. Beyond the kitchen, you may find yourself engaging directly with guests on stage to explain cooking techniques or answer questions, and you might even conduct promotional cooking demonstrations. You will also play a key role in supporting guests with special dietary needs and allergy requests, ensuring their safety and satisfaction.
