About the Role
We are seeking an experienced laborer to join our crew in a utility capacity. This role is dynamic, requiring you to transfer between various tasks as project situations demand. You will work primarily as part of a crew under the direction of a supervisor or foreperson, relying heavily on teamwork to execute construction projects successfully.
Your day will involve a diverse range of physical and technical duties. You may be responsible for measuring distances from grade stakes, driving stakes, and stretching tight lines. The role often requires mixing concrete, smoothing and finishing freshly poured cement, and leveling earth to fine grade specifications. You will also assist with paving duties, such as using a paving lute, operating vibratory plates, and directing traffic around work areas. Additionally, you may perform pipe duties, including setting up pipe lasers, operating equipment for backfilling, cutting pipe to length, and checking grades and slopes.
