About the Role
The Executive Sous Chef is a pivotal leader in our culinary team, dedicated to preparing and serving attractive, appetizing, and nutritious meals for our residents. You will be responsible for cooking a variety of foods in large quantities, ensuring that special dietary needs, seasoning requirements, and temperature controls are meticulously met. Your work directly impacts the daily well-being and satisfaction of our residents, requiring you to estimate food quantities accurately to limit waste while utilizing leftovers effectively.
In the absence of the Executive Chef, you will step up to manage the entire kitchen operation. This includes menu planning and writing, product ordering, and supervising multiple kitchens. You will lead a diverse team of up to 45 cooks, dishwashers, apprentices, and front-of-house serving staff, ensuring that all duties are carried out in accordance with federal and state regulations and established company policies.
