Position Overview
The Commercial Flooring Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive flooring estimates for a variety of commercial projects. This individual will work closely with project managers, sales teams, subcontractors, vendors, and clients to ensure timely and precise bid submissions. Key Responsibilities
- check_circleReview project plans, specifications, and bid documents for commercial flooring projects
- check_circlePerform accurate quantity takeoffs and cost estimates using Measure Square and/or Callidus
- check_circlePrepare detailed proposals, bids, and project pricing packages
- check_circleCommunicate with vendors and subcontractors to obtain pricing and product information
- check_circleAnalyze labor, material, and project costs to ensure profitability and competitiveness
- check_circleCollaborate with internal sales and operations teams throughout the bidding process
- check_circleMaintain organized bid files, project documentation, and estimating records
- check_circleParticipate in project handoff meetings with operations and project management teams
- check_circleAssist in identifying value engineering opportunities and cost-saving solutions
- check_circleStay current on market pricing, flooring products, and industry trends
Requirements
- verified2+ years of commercial flooring estimating experience
- verifiedExperience with Measure Square and/or Callidus
- verifiedStrong understanding of commercial flooring materials, installation methods, and project workflows
- verifiedAbility to read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, and specifications
- verifiedProficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
Nice to Have
Experience estimating projects within education, healthcare, corporate, multifamily, hospitality, or retail sectors. Knowledge of contract flooring operations and project management processes. Background working with general contractors and subcontractors.
