Lapmaster Wolters is a global leader in precision surface finishing and lapping technology, serving the semiconductor, aerospace, automotive, and optical industries. With manufacturing operations across the US, Germany, UK, Singapore, and Asia, the company produces precision machines and consumables for the most demanding surface finishing applications worldwide.
Privately held and currently in a period of strategic investment, the company is committed to building the systems and processes that will support its next phase of growth. This finance and digital transformation program represents a direct commitment from ownership to modernize the organization.
Lapmaster Wolters is embarking on a 24 to 36-month finance and digital transformation, migrating from Elliott ERP (US) and SAP ECC (Germany) to SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud. The US entity will serve as the pilot deployment for this greenfield implementation. This is not a lift-and-shift; the business has committed to starting fresh with a clean chart of accounts, redesigned finance processes, and a platform built to scale.
The ERP Lead will own the technical and functional delivery of this vision from day one. The program is well-structured with established governance, an experienced transformation lead, an active CFO sponsor, and an engaged business owner. The ERP Lead joins a small, accountable team with real decision-making authority and a clear mandate to drive the project forward.
The ERP Lead is the most time-sensitive hire in the program. Critical milestones—including pilot scope definition, ERP partner selection, RFP issuance, and S/4 design—are currently blocked until this role is filled. The goal is to hire and onboard before the end of Q2 2026 to ensure the program stays on the critical path.
This is a high-impact leadership role focused on design and delivery rather than hands-on configuration or steady-state support. The ERP Lead will bridge the US and Germany teams, ensuring alignment on design decisions while translating finance process decisions into S/4 configuration terms. The role requires a leader who is comfortable holding implementation partners accountable, translating between finance and IT audiences, and surfacing risks early to the steering committee. Change management is a core responsibility, ensuring the business is ready not just technically, but practically, for the new system.
Candidates are expected to demonstrate a track record of leading programs, not just participating in them. The ideal candidate will have experience managing external SAP implementation partners and navigating cross-border complexities between US and European entities.
