A leading investment firm is seeking a junior Data Analyst to support its growing investment team, with a specific focus on alternative data. This role is designed for professionals coming from a sell-side or buy-side equity research background who are interested in developing a more data-focused toolkit. The firm is continuing to build out its capabilities and is looking to add a second analyst to complement the existing team.
In this position, you will work directly with investors to help integrate data-driven insights into the research process. Your contributions will support a more scalable and differentiated approach to idea generation. The day-to-day involves collaborating closely with analysts to integrate data into company research, thematic work, and idea generation. You will assess the quality and usefulness of new data vendors and datasets, helping to make data usage more systematic across the team.
We value a strong analytical mindset and intellectual curiosity. While some exposure to coding and data tools like Python, SQL, or Excel is beneficial, you do not need to be a pure programmer. The ideal candidate possesses the ability to work with datasets and figure things out independently without a heavy technical background, driven by a natural curiosity about how alternative data can enhance traditional research.
