We are seeking a dedicated Environmental Technician to join our team in Springfield, Virginia. In this full-time capacity, you will play a critical role in supporting solid and hazardous waste management operations within a government facility. Your work will ensure compliance with regulatory standards while maintaining a safe and efficient environment.
Day-to-day, you will manage the lifecycle of hazardous materials, from placing and labeling storage drums at designated Satellite Accumulation Areas (SAA) to coordinating their transport to the centralized Hazardous Waste Building. You will be responsible for inspecting and documenting storage conditions, conducting inventories of hazardous materials, and assisting with reporting status to the Government. Additionally, you will coordinate solid and universal waste pick-ups and assist with general facility maintenance activities as needed.
Candidates selected for this role must be U.S. citizens eligible to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance with a full-scope polygraph. The selection process includes a thorough background investigation and medical surveillance, including respirator fit testing and pulmonary function tests.
