The Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) serves as the state's lead agency for environmental management and stewardship, dedicated to protecting Florida's air, water, and land. Our vision is to advance Florida's position as a world leader in natural resource protection while simultaneously growing the state's economy. The Division of State Lands (DSL) acts as staff to the Board of Trustees of the Internal Improvement Trust Fund, overseeing more than 12 million acres of public lands, including lakes, rivers, and islands. These lands provide essential opportunities for residents and visitors to explore and appreciate Florida's unique natural landscapes.
The Land and Recreation Grants Section within DSL promotes programs that foster partnerships to enhance and sustain Florida's natural and cultural resources. We are committed to providing increased outdoor recreational opportunities for the public while preserving state lands and recreational facilities through special legislative grants and related projects.
