About the Role
This position provides essential environmental services to PHHS units and departments, ensuring a sanitary, clean, and safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff. The role is critical in maintaining operational efficiency, particularly in critical care areas, by promptly addressing sanitation needs and supporting the hospital's mission of optimal customer satisfaction.
You will be responsible for cleaning assigned areas through tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, trash collection, and floor buffing. A key aspect of the day-to-day workflow involves utilizing the "bed tracking" system to ensure immediate cleaning of rooms following patient discharge, facilitating the rapid availability of rooms for newly assigned patients. Success in this role requires the ability to follow oral and written directions and to master sanitation techniques and the use of cleaning materials, either through prior experience or within a ninety-day learning period.
Beyond routine cleaning, you will maintain and care for all environmental services equipment and supplies, notifying supervisors of any maintenance or repair needs to ensure safety and resource efficiency. You are also expected to identify opportunities to improve work processes and customer satisfaction, implementing recommendations that support the department's overall goals. Staying informed about industry advancements and adhering to applicable rules, regulations, and accreditation requirements is also part of the role's accountability.
Work Schedule
This is an on-site, part-time position located in the Main Hospital Building (1st Floor). The schedule runs from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., covering 3 to 4 days a week, with every other weekend included.
