About the Role
As an Environmental Credit Risk Associate on the Commercial and Investment Bank Credit Risk Management Team, you will be responsible for reviewing and analyzing environmental reports for real estate lending transactions. You will utilize your quantitative and qualitative skills to analyze environmental credit risk for various lines of business. Our team is responsible for evaluating environmental risk through traditional lending activity, serving as a critical link between Bank personnel and the information provided in environmental reports to ensure timely review, analysis, and recommendations.

Key Responsibilities
- check_circleReview environmental records and reports for commercial real estate secured loan transactions
- check_circleConduct collateral-asset analysis on real estate lending, management, and acquisition processes
- check_circleCoordinate and monitor requests for proposals and work-product reviews of environmental consultants
- check_circlePerform independent research to supplement environmental information for real estate collateral
- check_circleCritically review scopes of work for Phase II subsurface investigations and remedial action plans
- check_circlePerform environmental reviews involving complex property situations such as contaminated sites
- check_circleObtain and review Phase I ESAs for commercial real estate loans in default
- check_circleAssist management with developing standardized documentation for environmental inspection checklists
Requirements
- verifiedBachelor's degree in environmental sciences or related fields
- verifiedAt least seven years of experience in environmental investigations, risk management, and loss prevention
- verifiedProfessional designations such as Registered Environmental Assessor or Certified Asbestos Consultant (as appropriate)
