The City Attorney’s Office is hiring an Entry Assistant City Attorney for the Prosecution and Code Enforcement (PACE) Section of the Department of Law. This role is part of a dynamic prosecution team utilizing state-of-the-art technology to help keep the Denver community safe.
PACE prosecutes municipal crimes and traffic offenses, helping crime victims safely navigate the criminal justice system. We also provide Denver residents with tools to prevent crimes and offer alternative resolutions to traditional prosecutions. Our Neighborhood Prosecution Team assists neighborhood organizations in addressing criminal activity and helps resolve disputes to divert them from becoming traditional criminal cases. Additionally, the team manages mental health and drug and alcohol commitments.
In this position, you will work out of the Wellington E. Webb Municipal Office Building at 201 W Colfax Ave, Denver, CO 80202. You will also work in the City and County Building, the Lindsey Flanigan Courthouse, and the Downtown Detention Center. Office hours are 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, though they may extend depending on the needs of the court and the case.

Significant experience handling criminal matters. Substantial experience in all phases of criminal litigation. Strong oral and written communication skills. A history of success working in a fast-paced demanding criminal litigation practice. Experience with domestic violence cases or victims. Willingness to work in a paperless environment. Commitment to working collaboratively with a team.
