About the Role
Branford Public Schools is seeking dedicated English Learner (EL) Paraeducators for the 2026-2027 school year. This 10-month position, starting in August 2026, is designed to provide critical supplemental support to identified EL students. Working under the direction of EL specialists and classroom teachers, you will play a vital role in fostering a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate learning environment.
In this role, you will assist teachers with classroom management, setup, and the maintenance of materials. Your focus will be on supporting students in speaking, listening, reading, and writing through specific modifications and accommodations. This may include repeating directions, performing task analysis, reading assignments or tests aloud, documenting instructions, and organizing homework.
Who We Are Looking For
We strongly encourage candidates who are fluent in Spanish, Arabic, or Nepali to apply. To qualify for this position, candidates must possess an academic degree, have earned at least 60 college credits, or have passed the ParaPathways (formerly ParaPro) assessment.
