About the Mission

About the Role

As an educator, you will be the cornerstone of student success. You will assess student abilities against desired educational goals and develop lesson plans that adapt the curriculum to meet the unique needs of each learner. Your day will involve creating age-appropriate class activities, establishing a positive classroom climate, and providing individualized instruction.

Beyond the classroom, you will serve as a vital link between the school, families, and the community. You will maintain professional relationships with parents, colleagues, and community members, ensuring open communication and collaboration. You will also participate in school-level planning, faculty meetings, and co-curricular programs, modeling the ethical standards and work habits we expect our students to emulate.

Note: If assigned to Physical Education, this role includes demonstrating athletic techniques, working outdoors in varying conditions, and utilizing physical strength and agility to lead the program.

Hiring Process & Application

Madison City Schools requires a background check upon offer of employment, including fingerprints for review by the Alabama Bureau of Investigation and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Checks must not be more than ten years old.

This position is subject to the Students First Act of 2011. Please note that no credit toward tenure or non-probationary status is earned in the initial school year if the date of hire occurs after September 30. The district reserves the right to fill this position by transfer of a qualified applicant already employed by Madison City Schools.
