We are seeking an Engineering Technician II to support a Department of Defense customer at our Lexington Park, MD location. This role is designed for candidates who are ready to help the federal government deploy leading technologies, improve financial management, or defend the nation in cyberspace. In this position, you will perform routine engineering tasks under close supervision or from detailed procedures. Your day-to-day work involves reading and following engineering drawings and work instructions, as well as assembling or installing equipment and parts requiring simple wiring, soldering, or connecting. The role requires approximately 25% travel per calendar year as needed.

Experience with fiber optic cable assembly and installation. Ability to read and understand architectural/mechanical drawings (ASME Y14.5/DRM experience). Ability to install and perform general duties supporting the construction, installation and integration of Information Technology or Telecommunication equipment or subassemblies. Mechanical integration/installation aptitude. A basic understanding of wiring, wiring harnesses and wire labeling (knowledge of ANSI/J-STD-001 Soldering Certifications and requirements of IPC-A-610). IPC 610, 620, or JSTD Certification(s).
