Engineering Lead - HVAC - Building Systems - Director-Level Role

About the Opportunity

We are partnering with a well-established engineering firm in the Milwaukee area to strengthen the collaboration between their Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing teams. While each discipline performs well individually, the organization faces a gap in coordination, consistency, and leadership across projects. This role is being created specifically to bridge that divide.

You will step in as the senior mechanical voice, helping to align teams, improve execution, and bring structure to project delivery. This is not a title-only Director role; you will lead, design, and shape how work gets done. It is an opportunity to build something rather than just inherit it, offering real influence on how the engineering team operates and direct access to leadership and decision-making.

About the Team

The Mechanical team is currently small and growing, with a relatively junior composition. In contrast, the Electrical and Plumbing teams are established but operate independently. You will influence a total group of approximately 10–12 engineers, quickly becoming a go-to resource and leader. The environment is designed for those who want to stay hands-on while mentoring junior engineers and elevating overall team capability.
