About Raytheon and Our Mission

At Raytheon, the foundation of everything we do is rooted in our values and a higher calling – to help our nation and allies defend freedoms and deter aggression. We bring the strength of more than 100 years of experience and renowned engineering expertise to meet the needs of today's mission and stay ahead of tomorrow's threat. Our team solves tough, meaningful problems that create a safer, more secure world.

The Energetics and Propulsion Department is an engineering organization within the Hardware Engineering Directorate. This department is responsible for the full spectrum of warhead, fuzing, and propulsion designs and technologies, including power systems, ignition, and all other weapon initiation safety systems. We are seeking an Engineer II – Propulsion to join this critical team in Tucson, AZ.

About the Role

This role is designed for individuals who enjoy working with highly advanced technical technologies, scientific principles, and theories to integrate propulsion systems into missile systems and space vehicles. You will be instrumental in the development and production programs across Raytheon Product Lines, working directly with subcontractors on the design and manufacturing of solid rocket motor propulsion systems.

In this position, you will manage propulsion system development projects and subcontracts, reviewing data and change requests while overseeing supplier operations. You will frequently interface with customers to identify user needs and act as a key spokesperson on program technical capabilities and future directions. The role requires a collaborative spirit, as you will work closely with program management on long-range planning and lead efforts to uncover and resolve issues associated with operational missile programs.

Hiring Process and Application Instructions

Candidates for this position must be U.S. citizens, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for the required U.S. government-issued security clearance. An active and transferable Secret clearance is required prior to the start date, or the ability to obtain an Interim clearance must be demonstrated.

Please note that as part of our commitment to maintaining a secure hiring process, candidates may be asked to attend select steps of the interview process in-person at one of our office locations, regardless of whether the role is designated as on-site, hybrid, or remote. This position is an Onsite role located in Tucson, AZ. RTX anticipates the application window closing approximately 40 days from the date the notice was posted, though this may vary based on candidate flow and business necessity.

Our Culture and Commitment

Our values drive our actions, behaviors, and performance with a vision for a safer, more connected world. At RTX, we value Safety, Trust, Respect, Accountability, Collaboration, and Innovation.

RTX is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
