This position serves as a Senior Engineer within Transmission and Generation Operations (TGO) Reliability Engineering Services. You will support SRP's Balancing Authority Area Operations, Transmission Market, and Energy Market. In this role, you will provide leadership in achieving the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of SRP's transmission system. You will perform engineering analysis, studies, and design work while developing mitigation strategies for outages and operational constraints.
You will act as a bridge between technical operations and strategic planning, developing recommendations for stakeholder consideration and presenting to management. A key part of your day will involve providing engineering support for integrating new SRP generation into the fleet, with a specialty in Inverter-Based Resources (IBRs), and ensuring the transmission grid operates safely and reliably. You will also oversee software and operating tool enhancements, support control room improvements, and ensure compliance with NERC Standards and FERC Orders.
As a specialist in your field, you will serve on industry committees and task forces, representing SRP with entities such as the Electric Power Research Institute and the Western Electricity Coordination Council. You will also contribute to the department's training program by developing and instructing on operational excellence and human performance.

SRP offers a hybrid workplace model, allowing employees whose jobs can be performed remotely to telework up to three days per week. While teleworking is available, all employees must live and work in Arizona. Additionally, candidates must possess a valid Arizona driver's license.
