Based at the Hilton Garden Inn Kauai Wailua Bay, the Engineer, Level 1 is responsible for ensuring that the property is maintained in the best possible condition at all times with the least amount of inconvenience to customers and employees. This role serves as the frontline guardian of the hotel's physical infrastructure, requiring a proactive approach to troubleshooting and repair across HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general facility systems.
The day-to-day involves a dynamic mix of preventive maintenance and urgent repairs. You will be the point of contact for everything from changing air conditioning filters and testing cooling towers to repairing kitchen equipment and maintaining swimming pools. Success in this position requires the ability to read blueprints and wiring diagrams, troubleshoot complex systems, and execute repairs that adhere to local, state, and federal codes. Beyond technical skills, the role demands a service-oriented mindset; you will interact frequently with guests and staff, addressing concerns with attentiveness and courtesy while maintaining high standards of personal appearance and grooming.
