As an Employee Relations Business Partner or Analyst, you will serve as a strategic internal consultant to the leadership teams of various City of San Antonio departments. Your mission is to manage the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources office within your assigned client department, ensuring strict compliance with labor laws, City policies, and programs. You will act as a vital liaison between department management and employees, including union representation, while proactively anticipating HR needs to support the achievement of strategic departmental goals.
In this role, you will navigate complex employee relations issues, conducting thorough and objective investigations into working condition complaints, disciplinary actions, EEO complaints, and grievances. Beyond conflict resolution, you will analyze trends and metrics to develop targeted solutions, programs, and policies that drive organizational health. You will provide guidance on workforce planning, succession planning, and business unit reorganizations, while also serving as a resource for employees regarding workplace questions and concerns.
The position offers a dynamic work environment where assignments may vary based on client department needs. You will work primarily in an office setting, potentially exercising direct supervision over assigned staff, and will collaborate closely with department leadership to foster a culture of compliance, fairness, and operational excellence.
