About the Team

North Central Baptist Hospital is a cornerstone of the San Antonio community, featuring separate adult and pediatric emergency departments to meet diverse patient needs. Ranked as a U.S. News and World Report Best Hospital in 2013-14 and recognized again in 2023, the facility prides itself on delivering top-tier care. The hospital offers extraordinary cardiovascular and labor & delivery programs, with emergent PCI and OB services available on-site.

The clinical environment is designed for efficiency and autonomy. Clinicians benefit from a simple "one call" system for admissions and transfers. Notably, NPs and PAs practice independently in the ED, meaning physicians have no APP charts to sign, allowing them to focus entirely on patient care.

About the Role

You will join a high-volume Emergency Department (22,000 annual visits) operating as a Level III Trauma Center with 22 beds. The department is an Accredited Chest Pain Center and Primary Stroke Center, seeing an average of 2.1 patients per hour. Physicians will work 8-hour shifts supported by Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) within a Cerner EMR environment.

Career Path & Locations

Physicians in this role will rotate between several Baptist Health System locations, including Baptist Medical Center, Mission Trail Baptist Hospital, Northeast Baptist Hospital, St. Luke's Baptist Hospital, Resolute Health Hospital, and the Baptist Regional Children's Center. W-2 and 1099 options are available to suit your career preferences.
