The Department of Emergency Medicine provides episodic care to more than 450,000 patients annually across six emergency departments and four urgent care centers. We boast the most board-certified Emergency physicians and the most subspecialty fellowship-trained Emergency physicians in the state. The department features the Upstate's only Emergency Medicine residency program (PGY 1-3), which is the third-largest residency program in the institution, alongside advanced fellowships in Emergency Ultrasound and Medical Education.
The facility is a regional referral, acute care, tertiary care hospital with over 600 beds, including more than 100 ICU beds. It operates as a Level 1 Adult Trauma Center, Level 2 Pediatric Trauma Center, and holds accreditation for Transplant, Chest Pain, STEMI, and Comprehensive Stroke Centers. The department also manages a dedicated Pediatric Emergency Department within the Children's Hospital, five community hospital emergency departments, and regional ground and air EMS systems.
We seek a Board Certified/Board Eligible Emergency Medicine Medical Toxicologist to join our faculty and help shape the Emergency Medicine Residency Program. This role is designed for a physician prepared to contribute significantly to the academic output of the department while maintaining an active clinical practice in emergency medicine and medical toxicology consultation.\n You will join an established Medical Toxicology inpatient consult service currently staffed by three medical toxicologists. The position offers the opportunity to drive the department's academic mission, mentor residents, and contribute to the subspecialty practice, education, and scholarship of Emergency Medicine and Toxicology.
