We are seeking a dedicated educator to join our team as a Music Teacher. In this role, you will plan and deliver meaningful instructional tasks that align with learning goals and the District curriculum. You will create a positive, organized classroom environment where students feel safe to explore, ask questions, and grow. Your day will involve implementing effective instruction that addresses various learning styles, adapting content to meet diverse student needs, and fostering a culture of enthusiasm and high expectations. Beyond the classroom, you will actively participate in professional growth opportunities, collaborate with colleagues, and engage with parents and the community to support the District's goals.
This position requires a valid South Dakota teaching certificate with either an Elementary Music Education or K-12 Vocal Music Education endorsement. Please note that endorsement requirements may vary based on specific course assignments.
In compliance with South Dakota Codified Law 13-42-71, all certified educators must complete at least one hour of approved youth suicide awareness and prevention training every five years. Successful candidates will be required to provide their most recent certificate of completion prior to starting employment. Approved training options and detailed instructions are available via the South Dakota Department of Education.
