This position serves as a Self-Contained K-4th Grade Classroom Teacher within the Sioux Falls School District. The role is designed for an educator who can plan meaningful instructional tasks, implement district curriculum, and adapt teaching techniques to meet the diverse needs of all students. You will be responsible for creating a positive classroom environment that encourages student engagement, utilizes effective questioning strategies, and maintains high expectations for learning.
As a member of our team, you will communicate effectively with colleagues, parents, and students, conducting parent-teacher conferences and reporting student progress in accordance with district policy. The role requires a demonstrated ability to use technology to enhance learning and a commitment to ongoing professional growth.

Certification Requirements This position requires a valid South Dakota teaching certificate with the Self-Contained K-4th Grade endorsement. Endorsement requirements may vary based on specific course assignments. For questions regarding SD teaching certification, please contact the South Dakota Department of Education.
Youth Suicide Awareness and Prevention Training South Dakota Codified Law 13-42-71 requires certified educators to complete at least one hour of approved youth suicide awareness and prevention training every five years. Compliance is verified through district accreditation reviews. You will be required to provide your most recent certificate of completion prior to starting employment. Please review the list of approved trainings at doe.sd.gov before selecting a course, as unapproved trainings will require you to retake an approved course.
