Fibertek, Inc. is a leading developer of laser and electro-optic systems for the aerospace community. We make key contributions to lasers for atmospheric sensing, laser communications, and lidar sensors for NASA, the Department of Defense, and commercial customers.
We are seeking an experienced Electro-Optical Systems Engineer to join our R&D team in Herndon, VA. In this role, you will lead the implementation from the ground up of formalized and rigorous systems engineering processes, practices, tools, and disciplines.
You will work within cross-functional teams alongside Program Managers, scientists, and engineers to develop new technologies and laser systems. Your focus will be on system-level oversight of product development, including the review and approval of system and subsystem requirements, as well as the decomposition and allocation of those requirements to system, subsystem, and component levels. You will be responsible for reducing customer specifications and technical governing documents into design and test requirements, tracking compliance, and managing verification through design, assembly, integration, and test completion.
