Northrop Grumman Space Systems, Multi-Domain Operations, and Missile Defense Integration Business Unit has an exciting career opportunity for a Principal Electrical Engineer - Level 3 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals in Huntsville, AL.
As a Principal Electrical Engineer, you will support the GMD Weapon System (GWS) Hardware Engineering team's design efforts within an Agile environment. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining electrical drawings for multiple Ground Systems (GS) IPT hardware systems and their interfaces with facilities. Working under the direction of program leadership, you will perform analyses in accordance with industry and military standards, develop rack and system-level drawings, and manage the PLM system. Your role involves evaluating hardware design efforts, scheduling and planning tasks, leading small teams, and writing reports to support milestone reviews. You will be expected to actively participate in team meetings and internal/external demos, documenting progress on team dashboards while mentoring and cross-training junior engineers to ensure customer requirements are met.

This position requires a current active in-scope U.S. Government issued Secret security clearance and the ability to support an in-office/closed-area work environment full-time. Travel of up to 10% is required.

Recent experience generating engineering documentation including technical drawings, specifications, technical reports, test procedures, program procedures, and CDRLS. Familiarity with Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Core Standards: MDA-QS-001-MAP, MDA-QS-003-PMAP, MDA Instruction 5000.20-INS (ETR Process). Familiarity with MIL-STD-1901A, MIL-STD-882, MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-464, IEEE 802.3u, IEEE 802.3ab, TEMPEST 01-13, NEC. Familiarity with the GMD domain and GMD Launch Support Systems hardware. Experience with requirements management tools such as DOORS. Experience modeling with Cameo Enterprise Architecture, Visio or other architecture modeling tools. Experience in documenting Interface Control Documents, Interface Requirement Specifications, and Interface Description Documents. Experience with Agile Development.
