New York Times Licensing manages the distribution of journalism from The New York Times and other content providers globally. The editorial team within this division is responsible for commissioning, editing, curating, and packaging articles for various licensed products and services. They edit, repackage, or abridge a wide range of columns, news stories, and in-depth features to meet the needs of syndication clients, while also contributing to the creation of bespoke publications and special series featuring essays by international contributors.
This entry-level Editorial Assistant position supports the licensing editorial team in their daily tasks. You will work alongside editors to ensure the seamless delivery of content to global clients. As an entry-level role, it offers a unique opportunity to learn the intricacies of syndication, editing, and the business of journalism while contributing to the mission of independent reporting.
This is a hybrid role based at our New York City headquarters, requiring three days per week in-office attendance, with potential flexibility for remote work depending on departmental guidance.
Candidates selected for this role will report to the Assistant Managing Editor, Syndicate. The interview process will include discussions regarding your experience in media organizations and your commitment to journalistic independence.
