The Educational Technician is a direct care position designed to perform instructional tasks in both classroom and community settings. You will be a vital part of the Behavioral Health team, working alongside teachers to support students in Activities for Daily Living (ADL), sensory development, physical fitness, social skills, academics, and independence.
In this role, you will assist students with personal hygiene, feeding, and toileting while ensuring their safety and access to the daily routine. You will also transport students to and from the community using agency vehicles. The position requires adapting activities under the supervision of a classroom teacher and implementing behavior plans, including de-escalation techniques and physical intervention when necessary to protect the health and wellbeing of clients.
This position involves working in a classroom and various community settings. The environment may include exposure to clients exhibiting verbal or physically aggressive behavior, moderate to loud noise levels, and potential exposure to blood-borne pathogens. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
