About the Role
The Before and After School Care (Y BASE) Site Supervisor is a year-round position designed to guide and direct programming for youth before and after school. This role serves as the on-site leader, ensuring a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate environment for children.
In this position, you will act as a role model for both staff and participants, managing daily activities and materials while building strong relationships with families and the local school district. During the summer months, the role transitions to a leadership position for day camp programs. You will be responsible for maintaining the safety and cleanliness of learning spaces, adhering to all Department of Children and Families regulations, and upholding the YMCA's core values in every interaction.
Hiring Process
Candidates must meet specific Child Care Licensing requirements, including relevant education, experience, and certifications such as CPR, First Aid, and Mandated Reporter status. To qualify for the Before and After School Care Site Supervisor at YMCA of Greater Waukesha County position, applicants should have: High school diploma or equivalent; 240 hours of experience in an approved education setting; 240 hours of related experience with early childhood or school-aged children; 2 DCF-approved courses in early childhood education OR 48 credits from higher education (3 in early childhood/school-age) OR Associate's/Bachelor's in education OR CDA credential OR School-Age Program Leader certification; CPR, First Aid, AED, Abusive Head Trauma, Mandated Reporter, Wisconsin Child Care Registry certification; and Ability to lift minimum 40 lbs.
