About the Role

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) is dedicated to providing compassionate care and support for individuals living in Skill Creations, Inc. facilities. These individuals have diverse needs ranging from physical and medical care to behavioral and cognitive support, as well as assistance with independent living skills.

In this role, you will partner with residents to foster their growth and independence. Your day-to-day responsibilities include assisting with personal care, administering medication, and teaching essential life skills. You will also accompany individuals to community activities and local or out-of-town appointments, ensuring they have access to the resources and experiences they need to thrive.

Position Details

We offer flexible scheduling options across three shifts to accommodate various needs. Positions are available for both full-time and part-time staff, with back-up and PRN (as-needed) roles open for all shifts, including occasional first-shift coverage.

• Full-Time (2nd Shift): 3:15 PM – 11:45 PM, 40 hours/week, 5 days a week. Off every other weekend.
• Part-Time (1st Shift): 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, 8 hours/week, every other weekend.
• Part-Time (2nd Shift): 4:00 PM – 9:00 PM, 4 hours/week, every other weekend.
• Part-Time (2nd Shift): 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM, Monday–Thursday (1 week), 20 hours/week.
• Part-Time (3rd Shift): 11:30 PM – 7:30 AM, 8 hours/week, every other weekend.
• Part-Time (3rd Shift): 11:30 PM – 7:30 AM, 3 days/week (24 hours total), off every other weekend.

Full-time employees (scheduled 30+ hours per week) are eligible for a competitive benefits package including health, dental, and life insurance, holiday pay, paid time off, and a 401(k). Hourly pay begins at $17.60 for full and part-time DSP positions, with back-up and PRN positions paid at $17.00 per hour.

Requirements & Expectations

Successful candidates must hold a High School diploma or GED from an accredited school and possess a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record. The role requires prompt and regular attendance, including working during inclement weather and some holidays.

Physically, the position requires the ability to lift 50 pounds and perform tasks such as balancing, bending, stooping, and kneeling. Employees will be on their feet for most of the shift. Additionally, candidates must have basic computer skills for email, electronic training modules, and data recording. Upon hiring, coursework will be required to successfully complete CPR/First Aid and Behavior Management certifications. A criminal record check is also mandatory.
