In this position, you will learn the essential functions of the Driver role, focusing on the accurate and timely delivery of products to various customer locations. This role is designed to provide comprehensive exposure to warehouse and operational functions as part of your developmental journey to becoming a certified McLane Driver.
CDL-A Driver Training Program
McLane is offering a fully paid CDL-A School right here in Northfield, Minnesota. This program is your opportunity to start a career with excellent pay and benefits without the burden of tuition costs. The training is intensive and immersive, running Monday through Thursday on-site in Northfield for the final four weeks of the program. To begin, candidates must obtain a CDL-A Permit prior to the start of classes.
The Journey
As a Driver Trainee, you will train side-by-side with an experienced Driver Trainer. You will ride along to various destinations, gaining practical knowledge of commercial driving regulations while observing expert techniques in engine starting, intersection navigation, turning, backing, parking, and maneuvering on both public roads and customer premises. This hands-on approach ensures you are fully prepared to operate a tractor-trailer safely and efficiently in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.
