About the Opportunity
Take your career further with McLane! We are offering a fully paid CDL-A Driver Training Program right here in Northfield, MN. This is your opportunity to start a rewarding career as a professional driver with excellent pay and benefits. As a Driver Trainee, you will learn the essential functions of the Driver job, including the accurate and timely distribution of products to various customer locations. You will gain exposure to warehouse and other operational functions as part of the developmental process of becoming a McLane Driver.
Program Details
McLane is investing in your future by covering the cost of your CDL-A School. The training takes place on-site in Northfield, MN, and runs Monday through Thursday for the last 4 weeks. While in school and training, you will earn $23.50/hour. To participate, you must obtain a CDL-A Permit prior to the class start date. Upon completion, you will receive a Class A CDL in 6 months or less.
What to Expect
You will train side-by-side with a Driver Trainer to acquire the skills necessary to perform essential functions. This includes maneuvering tractors, operating trucks safely in compliance with all regulations, and inspecting equipment for defects. You will ride with your trainer to various destinations, gaining knowledge of commercial driving regulations and observing skills such as starting the engine, approaching intersections, and maneuvering on customer premises. You will also assist in unloading trailers and delivering products into customer premises.
