As a Driver Trainee, you will learn the essential functions of the Driver role, including the accurate and timely distribution of products to various customer locations. You will gain exposure to warehouse and other operational functions as part of the developmental process of becoming a McLane Driver.
McLane is offering a fully paid CDL-A School right here in Northfield, MN. This program provides a clear pathway to start a career with excellent pay and benefits, allowing you to train side-by-side with an experienced Driver Trainer.
McLane is covering the cost of your CDL-A School training. The program includes on-site training in Northfield, MN, lasting 4 weeks, scheduled Monday through Thursday. To participate, you must obtain a CDL-A Permit prior to the class start date. During the training phase, you will earn $23.50/hour.
Upon successful completion of the training and certification, you will join a team dedicated to the "Work Safe Home Safe" motto. Your safety and ability to perform your job and get home to your family are paramount, which is why all prospective teammates undergo a pre-hire screening process. This includes a background check and drug screen in accordance with applicable laws.
As a Driver, you will operate a tractor-trailer in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations. Your day will involve inspecting equipment for defects, documenting delivery receipts and product temperatures, and assisting in the unloading of trailers. You will also communicate regularly with customers, management, and teammates, ensuring smooth operations across distribution centers, transportation departments, and customer facilities.
