About the Role
As a FedEx Freight Driver, you are the vital link between our Service Centers and our customers. Your mission is to ensure the professional, safe, and timely movement of freight, handling pick-ups and deliveries in a multi-temperature environment. This role is designed for individuals who take pride in operating straight trucks while delivering exceptional customer service that fosters new business relationships.
Your day involves more than just driving; you will secure freight using pallets, straps, and rope, perform daily safety inspections on your equipment, and manage all necessary documentation. Whether you are loading and unloading freight, operating motorized equipment like forklifts, or complying with hazardous material regulations, your attention to detail ensures operational integrity. You will work independently and as part of a team to meet delivery schedules, communicate effectively with dispatch regarding delays or issues, and maintain a safe working environment both indoors and outdoors.
Hiring Process
Candidates must possess a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class B with hazardous materials and tank endorsements. If you do not currently hold these endorsements, you must obtain the Hazardous Materials endorsement within 120 days of offer acceptance to drive a commercial motor vehicle. Applicants must also have one year of experience operating a straight truck or similar vehicle within the last three years, or have successfully completed the FedEx Freight Driver Development Course.
