About the Role

As a FedEx Freight Driver, you are the vital link between our Service Centers and our customers. Your mission is to ensure the professional, safe, and timely movement of freight, handling everything from pick-up to final delivery. This role is designed for individuals who take pride in operating straight trucks while delivering exceptional customer service that often leads to new business opportunities.

Your day involves a dynamic mix of driving and hands-on logistics. You will secure freight using pallets, straps, and rope, and operate both manual and motorized equipment like forklifts and pallet jacks to load and unload trucks. Whether navigating all types of roads in varying weather conditions or working in multi-temperature environments, you will maintain strict safety standards through daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections. You are also responsible for managing documentation, collecting freight charges, and ensuring compliance with hazardous material regulations.

Hiring Process

Candidates must possess a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class B with hazardous materials and tank endorsements. If you do not currently hold these endorsements, you must obtain the Hazardous Materials endorsement within 120 days of offer acceptance to drive a commercial motor vehicle. Applicants must also have at least one year of recent experience operating a straight truck or similar vehicle, or have successfully completed the FedEx Freight Driver Development Course.
