About the Role

This position offers a pathway to proficiency in operating tractor-trailer combinations, including doubles and straight trucks, through comprehensive education and skills development. Beyond driving, the role encompasses essential non-driving duties such as forklift operation and dock work, ensuring a versatile and integral presence within the logistics team.

You will be responsible for the full lifecycle of freight handling, from hooking and unhooking trailers to securing cargo with appropriate tools like straps and rope. The role requires close collaboration with dispatch to manage delays, arrivals, and equipment issues, while also serving as a point of contact for customers to determine pick-up or delivery needs and identify new business opportunities.

Working Conditions

The role involves driving day and night on all types of roads and in all weather conditions. You will be exposed to noise, vibration, dust, diesel fumes, and hazardous materials shipped under DOT regulations. Hours may vary to meet operational needs, and the position requires the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Hiring Process

Candidates must possess a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or a commercial learning permit (CLP) prior to entry, along with an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and compliance with all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulatory requirements under section 391 of the Federal Motor Carrier regulations.
