About the Role
The Donation Pick-up Driver serves as one of the most visible faces of our organization, representing our core values of respect, care, honesty, integrity, and excellence in every interaction with donors, client families, and the community. This role is critical to our mission, ensuring the safe and efficient collection of merchandise from residential and commercial donors to support our operations.
Your day will involve completing daily routes with 20 to 70 stops, safely operating box trucks, and managing the physical logistics of loading, transporting, and unloading donated items. You will screen donations for acceptability, prepare receipts, and maintain the cleanliness and safety of the vehicle. While the role requires significant physical activity, including lifting up to 50 pounds and working in various positions, it also demands strong interpersonal skills and a self-motivated work ethic.
We offer a unique compensation structure designed to support your hustle. While the standard schedule is 40 hours per week, you are guaranteed pay for 40 hours even if your route requires as little as 30 hours of actual driving time, provided you complete a full work week and all assigned tasks. Overtime is available for hours worked beyond 40.
Hiring Process
Qualified candidates must possess a current Class D Massachusetts driver's license, a valid DOT Medical card, and a clean driving record for the past five years. The selection process includes a background check and a drug test. While experience driving box trucks is preferred, we are willing to train qualified individuals who demonstrate dependability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
