About the Role
As a Dive Technician at Aulani, you will serve as the primary support for all Animal Programs dive activities. This role is vital to maintaining the health of our aquatic habitats and ensuring the safety of our guests. You will be the face of our underwater world, supporting guest programs like SAS and Underwater Explorers, often utilizing video and photography equipment to capture the magic. Your day will involve monitoring animal habitats, cleaning habitats to remove debris, and maintaining the equipment pads used for water treatment. You will also handle dive gear for both guest and team programs, ensuring everything is ready for the next adventure.

Key Responsibilities

- check_circleEnsure adherence to dive safety and strict water quality guidelines
- check_circleTroubleshoot and report mechanical discrepancies in water filtration systems
- check_circleCoordinate and supervise contracted service agents as necessary
- check_circleMonitor animal habitats and dive to clean habitats and remove debris
- check_circleMaintain equipment pads used for water treatment and handle dive gear
- check_circleConduct system inspections, pool cleaning, and pump basket maintenance
Requirements
- verifiedHigh School degree or equivalent
- verifiedDive Master or higher scuba certification
- verifiedKnowledge of Basic Chemistry, Biology, & Physics concepts
- verifiedKnowledge of PC based software including Microsoft Office
- verifiedNAUI Scuba Instructor Certification (Preferred)
- verifiedProven water filtration background (Preferred)
- verifiedProven understanding of SCADA control systems (Preferred)
- verifiedAbility to understand basic principles of water chemistry for Life Support systems (Preferred)

Ability to positively interact with guests of Aulani - A Disney Resort and Spa. NAUI Scuba Instructor Certification. Demonstrated strong analytical skills. Demonstrated strong partnering skills. Proven water filtration background with an understanding of Filters, Valves, Pumps and Disinfection processes. Demonstrated ability to share creative and new ideas. Proven understanding of SCADA control systems. Ability to troubleshoot inaccuracies and malfunctioning system components to isolate problem areas. Ability to organize work and to set priorities with basic multi-tasking skills. Ability to coordinate and supervise contracted service agents as necessary. Ability to work as part of a global team and work well under pressure and changing situations. Ability to understand the basic principles of water chemistry as they pertain to Life Support systems (DO, pH, Temperature, Nitrogen cycle, turbidity, ORP/HRR, oxidizers, algaecides, rules governing chemical application, biological filtration, nutrients, etc.). Ability to perform the daily accountabilities as they pertain to the shift (system inspections, skimmer/drain/pool cleaning, pump basket maintenance, manual backwash, pool balance, etc.).
